Bigg Boss OTT fame Urfi Javed has been in the news for her OTT dress sense. Her unique sense of dressing style often leaves her at the receiving end of the trolls. She has now shared that she admits to dressing up in quite an OTT style. In a conversation with Etimes TV, she said, “I love fashion. I used to always love dressing up and now that I can afford it, why not? When I know the media is going to be there at the airport clicking pictures of me, I am not going to be dressed in boxers. I try to look my best when I go out. And talking about attention, tell me one person who doesn’t want attention in this industry?”
Urfi added that she loves to plan her looks. “I love planning my looks and I know they are OTT (Over The Top). I am OTT in every sense. I wear stuff which anyone would not even imagine. While it might be extraordinary for many, for me it is just ordinary as I have always been like this. Also, I love wearing saris but sorry I can’t wear the blouse that my mom or the aunties wear. I style it my way! I love wearing a bikini blouse along with a sari,” she said.
Urfi was first trolled for sporting a cropped jacket that gave a view of her basic wear when she was clicked at the airport. And she has since been trolled almost everyday for offbeat outfits. She, to this end, said, “Who likes getting trolled? As a child, I was living under a lot of restrictions since my father was really conservative. So now, when I am independent, I have stopped getting worked up about anything in life. I don’t care what people say about me. People love trolling these days.”
Urfi added she was trolled even when she dressed modestly. “Recently, when I wore a suit on Ganesh Chaturthi, then also I was trolled. So I have come to the conclusion that no matter what I do, people will always have something to troll me for. Now I don’t get upset with it, I just give a witty reply whenever I feel the need to,” she shared. “Like very recently, someone said that he will give me money to buy clothes. I had sent him my actual account details but the money never came. So that’s how I deal with the criticism online.”
Holding her father responsible for her rebellious streak, Urfi said, “Yes he is. For 17 years of my life, I was constantly told that women do not have a voice and that they will always be below men in all aspects. I was so scared of my father. But I am thankful to him for leaving us and getting married again, in fact not once, but twice.
