Devoleena Bhattacharjee Calls VIRAL Engagement Post With Vishal Singh A 'Silly Prank'; 'I Was Shocked When People Fell For It'
Devoleena Bhattacharjee was shocked to see the response to her post which hinted at her engagement with Vishal Singh
A couple of days ago, Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Vishal Singh took the internet by storm when they posted pictures and hinted that they are 'engaged'. They captioned it, "It's official!". Fans of the duo flooded their Instagram post with congratulatory wishes. However, fans were shocked when they clarified that they are not engaged, and were only announcing their next collaboration - a music video titled 'It's Official'.
Devoleena has now reacted to people's reaction to her post. She told Times of India, "It is silly how people assumed that Vishal and I got engaged. Vishal has been one of my best friends since I did Saathiya and the entire world knows it. We were not engaged then, we are not engaged now."
She added, "He has been my closest friend and people should know that it was just a prank to promote my music video. I was shocked and surprised when so many people, including some of my good friends, called me to wish me for the engagements. How can anyone assume? The actress further added that it was just a marketing strategy with no negative intentions. "It was a marketing gimmick for a music video and it was not even something that sounded real. There are pros and cons of social media, and I think we are better off than the millions of people who spread negativity online. We posted something romantic, which is not true. Why is no one asking people who spread negativity? I don't think I should be blamed or questioned for this. It was a silly prank and people fell for it," she added.
Vishal and Devoleena starrer song will be sung by Anand Mishra. The release date of the upcoming song is not announced yet.
