Devoleena Bhattachrajee, who is fondly known as Gopi Bahu, is once again making a comeback in the same avatar to entertain her fans. The actress who participated in Bigg Boss 13 last year will be a part of the iconic show Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 now.
Recently, the promo of the most talked about show went air where we could see Devoleena introducing a new character Gehna in the show. And now for the first time after the official announcement of the show coming back with a season 2, Devoleena spoke about her comeback, idea of new season and of course the mashup of rasode mein kaun tha, which is currently breaking the Internet. Talking to us exclusively, Devoleena Bhattachrajee said, "I'm glad to reunite with Rashmi Mam. She is a great teacher, friend and family to me. I totally believe in her vision and if she has thought something for me, so I really don't have to think anything. I can close my eyes and walk on that path. I am glad she not only decided to bring back season 2 of the show but also to make me a part of it once again." Actresses usually get bored playing the same character and want to explore something new and Devoleena thinks no different, "I agree playing the same character for a longer period becomes boring but here the case is different. I will be playing the same character but after a break. You just can't leave your iconic character for someone else. Like Salman Sir keeps returning with his Dabangg franchises and people love to watch him. I am sure here also the audience will love to see their Gopi Bahu back after a big break."
Sharing what excites her the most to play Gopi, Devoleena said, "The character of Gopi is a true representation of any Indian woman. While playing Gopi I feel as if I am paying tribute to so many women around who are a homemaker, at the same time entertaining them as well."
The actress also went on revealing when this whole idea of bringing back a season 2 of this long running show culminated. She said, "The talks started when suddenly Gopi and Kokilaben started trending on Titok last year. Though I was hearing about makers planning to launch another season since then but I took it just as a rumour but makers officially came to me with the idea on July 23 this year."
Where a lot of people are assuming that the makers came up with the idea of launching a new season after Rasode Mein Kaun Tha mashup went viral, Devoleena disagrees with it and calls it a sheer coincidence. "Saathiya was receiving a great response on the repeat telecasts too during lockdown and I think that must have convinced the channel and the producer to execute the plan," concluded Devoleena.
