Did You Know Madhuri Dixit Was The Reason Why Amruta Khanvilkar Became An Actress?- EXCLUSIVE
Actress Amruta Khanvilkar who is currently seen on Colors’ reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi has done quite a lot of creditable work in Indian TV industry and cinema too. Right from being a big name in Marathi cinema to doing some popular films in Hindi like Raazi, Malang, she has already won a dance reality show Nach Baliye. Well, do you know who was her real inspiration to do enter the movies? It was Madhuri Dixit!

Speaking about the same, Amruta told us, “It was dancing to Madhuri Dixit songs and watching unlimited films while growing up which led me take up acting as a profession. It was fairly early in life when I realized that I have been made for showbiz. Probably, I was in fourth standard when I used to dance on all Madhuri Dixit songs and discovered that I can dance really well. Since then, I used to lock myself up in my room and practice the speeches for Miss World and Miss India. I think I am a drama queen in real life as well".

Amruta spoke about the character closest to her heart, she said, “It was the role of Zarina which I did in one of my Marathi films called Katyar Kaljat Ghusali. That role made me realize that I also have a command over Urdu. I think that is one of my favorite roles and then, of course, there is Munira from Raazi. Then, my role in this Marathi film called Baji. I needed to do a certain action sequence in which I was hanged with a 40 feet clip for half an hour, so that was extremely thrilling. These roles have given me the greatest joy.”

The actor says that while she loves working in all mediums, the fact that films give her time to work on her character is what makes her like them more. “I don't think there is a lot of difference in the working style in the different mediums. It is just that in films the characters are much more layered and you get to find some nuances in it. Shooting for TV is a day-to-day thing. I mean I have done a television series of about 50 to 60 episodes and it's an everyday thing so you can't really sit on that character. I think films are more exciting because you can work on the character.”
