Diljit Dosanjh Says Bharti Singh Is His Favourite Actress, Adds She Inspired Him To Do Films
Diljit Dosanjh recently hosted an Instagram Live session to celebrate the success of his Punjabi movie, Honsla Rakh with his fans.
Diljit Dosanjh has been winning hearts with his performance in the recently released Punjabi film, Honsla Rakh. The film has also managed to do well at the Box Office. In fact, the movie, which also stars Sonam Bajwa and Shehnaaz Gill in the lead, became the highest-opening Punjabi film ever.
In order to celebrate the success of his film, Diljit on Friday hosted an Instagram Live session for his fans and followers. During this session, Diljit said that his favourite actress is Bharti Singh. In fact, he and Bharti tried to interact with each other. However, the latter was busy with the shooting of The Kapil Sharma Show.
"Bharti jee is my favourite actress. I had seen her show in Amritsar. She had called for a 'kofta' dish. I became a fan of hers after watching the play. I had never seen theatre before and never watched someone perform live. I used to only sing. I had never thought of films. But after her performance, people were really happy. And it made me think of doing films myself," said Diljit as he praised Bharti Singh.
Also, it was during this interaction that the Punjabi actor called Kapil Sharma the ‘Pride of Punjab’.
Later, fans bombarded Diljit with questions about Shehnaaz Gill. The Punjabi singer pointed out that Shehnaaz is in Mumbai right now, and he hasn't got a chance to talk to her after the release of the film but he'd do it soon.
To note, Honsla Rakh is a rom-com revolving around a couple played by Diljit and Shehnaaz, who refuses to take responsibility for their unplanned child. Shehnaaz’s character is seen moving out of Diljit’s life post her delivery. Diljit later falls in love with Sonam's character.
Diljit, during the live session, also revealed that Honsla Rakh is among the top ten movies in North America. He said that the film has secured seventh place at the North American Box Office.
