It was reported on Sunday that Dinesh Phadnis, who essayed the role of Fredericks in the popular TV show CID, was hospitalised after a heart attack. It was heavily stated by various media publications that he was kept on a ventilator and was fighting for his life. His fans and admirers took to their social media handles to express their concern and wish the actor a speedy recovery. Now, actor Dayanand Shetty, who essayed the role of Daya in the much-loved show has issued a clarification and shared a health update.
Talking to Indian Express, about the rumours the 53-year-old actor dismissed the reports claiming that Phadnis suffered a heart attack. While, he confirmed that his friend is on a ventilator and undergoing treatments, Dayanand did not reveal the cause of his hospitalisation. Talking to the publication, he stated the doctors are observing him. Quotes by Bollywood Life, he said, “Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalised and on a ventilator, doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack, it is a different treatment and I wouldn’t like to comment on it.”
If reports are to be believed, the 57-year-old actor is seeking treatment at Tunga hospital in Mumbai. His health condition is slightly better than before. The report also adds that his CID co-stars paid him a visit after getting to know about his health condition.
Having made a mark in the audience’s hearts with his humorous role in CID, he also appeared in Asit Kumarr Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in supporting roles and guest appearances. He had also appeared in a few monies one of which is Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh. He also acted in a Marathi movie ‘Bharla Ha Malavat Raktan,’ as a lead hero. An official update on Dinesh Phadnis’s health is eagerly awaited by his fans.
