A few hours back, Varun Sood shared a video on social media, blasting an award organiser for being unfair in their winners' choices. Here's what his girlfriend, Divya Agarwal has to say on it
Varun Sood is not a happy man. The actor posted a video recently, where he called out a certain award organisers for not being fair in their choices of winners. The model turned actor blasted a certain award organising company for being unfair to his girlfriend Divya Agarwal and her ex-boyfriend Priyank Sharma.
In the video, Varun opens up on how a certain award organising company has nominated him, his girlfriend Divya Agarwal and her former partner Priyank Sharma in different categories.
However, despite that, between Divya and Priyank, neither were given the awards and someone else got it instead. Further, Varun made an even shocking revelation by saying how the social media account of that award show, which had conducted the polls, switched off their comments' section to hide the results.
We got in touch with Divya Agarwal to know what she thinks about the same.
"This has not happened for the first time with us. Before this also there was a page where they didn't mention my name in Best female debut. And Varun got little offended and spoke to them that at least you put her name in nominations and let the public vote or jury decide. But then we got to know the people who were conducting it purposely didn't mention my name. So, we also left it. Varun comes from a sports background, so he believes in awards as appreciation gesture like winning a medal and trophies. However, I am a person who does not eye awards. Being a dancer and performer, I feel satisfied with audience love. So, now he has also entered the acting world and was expecting such moments but due to few people, it's getting crushed very badly. And after learning that only influential people can receive this award, he decided to come live and talk about it," said the actress.
Divya also spoke about the flak both of them are receiving for discussing the truth on social media. She said, "Varun has been receiving a lot of hate comments. I have also come across screenshots where this concerned person is saying, "Varun is like my brother. It must be Divya behind. Don't think that just because they are a couple they have similar opinions. She must have instigated Varun to do all this." But let me tell you very clearly that I am a person who likes to do things in open. I never feel afraid in keeping my opinion ahead. I don't want to name the person but all the winners you see are friends of that person. See we all know maximum awards are designed but what I want to say is even if you are designing this at least keep it realistic, so that logo ko samajh mein na aaye. And don't use big names just to get some mileage. Honestly, I don't even bother if my and Varun's name get used for such purpose but then we feel bad for our fans who get all excited and go extra mile to vote for us. It's misusing and crashing fans' dreams too."
Ask her how did the award organizers react to Varun's video and Divya says, "They just replied to him saying there were jury members who decided the winners. But I want to understand that who are these jury members, who gave them a certificate for judging people's acting and their work? Main nahi jaanti kaun hai peeche but if there is a members of jury then they should also be introduced to us. And if Jury has to take a call then why do they involve public to vote?"
