Reality show star Divya Agarwal, who has been in limelight for dating Varun Sood after Priyank Shama allegedly cheated on her with Varun’s then-girlfriend Benafsha Soonawalla, is currently over the moon. The star, who celebrated her 30th birthday amidst family and friends, was in for a surprise as her now- fiancé Apurva Padgaonkar proposed her for marriage. After being trolled as a gold digger for getting engaged nine months after her break-up, she has now opened up about the same.

In a conversation with an established entertainment publication, Divya shared how she has known Apurva for more than seven years now. They met in 2015 and even dated for three years before drifting apart. Eventually she went on to date her Ace Of Space co-star, before breaking up with him in March. She went on to share that her fiancé helped her through the break-up and stood by her like a rock. She told ETimes, “Apurva was always that friend who I could go to any time. After Varun and I broke up in March 2022, I was going through a tough phase. Apurva was there for me like a best friend, who stood by me like rock. So, though I was not expecting a proposal, in my mind I knew that he was the kind of guy I wanted to marry.”

The Bigg Boss OTT winner went on to reveal that she has always been open about her relationships with her fans, but that doesn’t give them the right to comment on her personal life. She said, “I would not want to comment on his reaction, but I would expect some sensitivity from fans regarding my engagement. I have been in relationships and have always been open about it, but that should not mean that netizens can say anything on my personal life. I am engaged now and they should show some sensitivity and not talk about my past relationship. I am in a very happy space and look forward to my life with Apurva.”

Through the interview, she also expressed that they haven’t set a date for their wedding yet but it is definitely on the cards next year. For the unversed, Apurva Padgaonkar is an engineer-turned-businessman and he run four restaurants in Mumbai. The engaged couple met through common friends. It was being said the he had even proposed to Divya’s mother and brother, officially taking their blessings to continue his relationship with the reality star.
