Giaa Manek To Make A Comeback After 5 Years; Actress Will Return As Gopika
Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress Giaa Manek has been missing in action for a long time. The actress who got immensely popular as Gopi Bahu playing the pivotal role on the show, left it midway to participate in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhlaja. Post which we saw her in SAB TV's show Jeannie Aur Juju, which wrapped up in 2014.

And now Giaa is finally making a comeback with TV's supernatural thriller, Manmohini. Coincidentally, her character name will be 'Gopika and her look will kind of similar to Gopi Bahu. She will again be seen wearing puffed-sleeved blouses and Gujarati sarees.

And all this will definitely remind the audience of Gopi bahu. However Giaa doesn't agree that the character has much in common with her previous hit role. Talking to BT,  she said, "Not at all. One might find a striking resemblance between Gopi and Gopika, but as the track shapes up, people will realise that the two are as different as chalk and cheese. While Gopi was docile and submissive, Gopika is fearless and bindaas. To be honest, I didn’t know that my character is named Gopika till a day before the shoot commenced.”

Giaa who is making a comeback also clarifies that she has no regret that she quit a popular show like Saathiya, when she was at the peak of her career. "There are repercussions to everything you do. Whatever happened at that time was a result of the choice I made. I didn’t want to tolerate manipulation and exploitation and hence, quit the show. I look at everything positively. Had I not done that, I wouldn’t have tried out other things and grown as an artiste. My character in Jeannie... was in contrast to what I did in 'Saathiya...'. So, at that time, I did what I thought was right. Today, I would have done it differently," she signs off.
