Happy Krishna Janmashtami 2020: Bigg Boss 13's Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Shubhangi Atre Celebrate Lord Krishna's Birth With Special Messages
Today, that is, on August 11, 2020, we celebrate the auspicious Krishna Janmashtami, which is the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Every year, this day is celebrated with utmost zeal as people fast, organise Puja, cook some lip-smacking delicacies and greet everyone with warmth and love. On this special occasion, TV beauties like Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Shubangi Atre share their fond memories of the festival. While Krishna Janmashtami is Shubangi’s favourite festival, Devoleena reveals how Lord Krishna, fondly known as Gopal, is her best friend.

The Bigg Boss 13 star said, "It’s not a secret that I connected to Gopal in my show Saath Nibhana Saathiya. As my character, Gopi in the show was of a devotee of Lord Krishna. But in real life even before, I can since childhood I'm devoted to him. He is my best friend for life.” Recalling her childhood days, she added, "I remember how I use to play with Krishna Idol at home. My mother used to narrate his stories while making me sleep. Every time, she used to refer to him as my friend and said me whenever I'll need him, he'll come. So I trusted that and now I feel that. Whenever I'm in any problem or confusion, somehow he helps me make me feel his presence and I feel so much blessed about it."

Shubhangi Atre, on the other hand, said, “Krishna Janam Utsav is one of the best celebrations around the year. And it’s my all-time favourite. We at home decorate for Krishna birthday and I make sure to bring his favourite food items. I feel connected to him as we both are a foodie. I remember how on Janmashtami we use to watch the story of Krishna birth. We sisters used to discuss and explore too much about his tales. We use to decorate our Krishna idol and celebrate the day. We use to save our pocket money for celebrating Krishna birthday and use to give me a surprise. It was fun in a way. I miss those innocent days."

Spilling the beans on her this year’s celebrations, she added, "My daughter and Piyush (husband) shall help in decoration a little. Will celebrate in a small way, in our mandir itself. I will cook sweets at home only. It will be a simple and homely celebration. My daughter is very excited about it. I'll try to prepare makhan myself at home."
