Indian Idol 12 WINNER: Pawandeep Rajan Conquers The Popular Singing Reality Show; SpotboyE Poll Had Predicted The Same
Pawandeep Rajan has emerged as the winner of the 12th season of the popular reality show Indian Idol.
Pawandeep Rajan has been declared the winner of the most popular and the longest-running season of Indian Idol. Fan favourite Pawandeep has been ruling the show ever since its inception. From his melodious voice to his multiple talents - the guys can even play drums while singing, Pawandeep managed to impress every guest on show.
Hailing from Uttarakhand, Pawandeep Rajan was also famous for his close friendship with another finalist, Arunita Kanjilal, and his brotherly bond with another contestant, Ashish Kulkarni. Host Aditya Narayan often teased Pawandeep for his lack of expression, while interacting with others. That was, however, well compensated by his magical voice and perfect sur.
Pawan had amassed more than a million followers on Instagram even before winning the show.

The grand finale was a star-studded 12-hour long gala, which saw the likes of Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, Mika Singh, Javed Ali, Amit Mishra, Sukhwinder Singh, Manoj Muntashir in attendance - apart from judges Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya, and Sonu Kakkar. Vishal Dadlani, who left the judge's seat midway, also attended later part of the episode.
SpotboyE had earlier asked its readers who they thought would win the show. They also predicted Pawandeep would win. Most of the readers voted for Pawandeep Rajan. According to the maximum reads, Pawandeep Rajan received 55.3 per cent votes. After him, the second person in line was Arunita Kanjilal. She got 29.4 per cent votes. The beautiful singer from West Bengal indeed emerged as the first runner up of the show.
Sayli Kamble was declared the second runner up; followed by Mohd Danish, Nihal Tauro and Shanmukhapriya respectively.
Hours ahead of the winner's announcement, Pawandeep Rajan had mentioned that he was going through a mixed bag of emotions. In a statement, he said, “This is the first time that we have a finale that’s for 12 hours straight. I am currently going through a mixed bag of emotions. I’m excited, nervous, all at the same time. There’s so much in store for the viewers. We are putting our best foot forward to give the viewers an amazing experience. To be honest, it’s great to be a part of something that’s so huge and is happening for the very first time.”
