So, Kamya Panjabi has decided to get married to a certain Shalabh Dang. This is the second time I am hearing of the surname Dang, the last being in '86 when Anupam Kher scorched the screen as Mr Dang in Subhash Ghai's blockbuster entertainer Karma. I have known Kamya since a very long time and I am very happy for her. I know her well since about 2006 when she patched up with her husband and gave her marriage another shot. I vividly remember her call to me in Matheran (where I was holidaying over a weekend) talking at length about the reconciliation.
Kamya has had very few friends in the industry and she has kept her life simple. I am not going to get into the details about the fact that she has been unlucky in love so far. Enough has been said and written till now about all that. It's time to laud Kamya's decision, which screams that you and I have only life which we should not live in the past. Kamya is looking ahead now, no matter how much she might have debated before kissing Dang's proposal.
Kavita Kaushik and Suchitra Pillai have been two of the few in her small circle and I spoke to the former what she feels about Kamya's upcoming marriage.
Said Kavita, "Pyaara sa aadmi hai (Shalabh Dang), looks totally in love with Kaamya and she looks absolutely content and happy ! I wish them the very best for a great life ahead."
Did Kavita motivate Kamya to not worry and stay positive? "I don’t think she (Kamya) was ever confused, she’s a strong girl and she knows what she wants and I can vouch for one thing that when she wants someone or something there’s no way anyone can stop her and that’s a great thing , however in Shalabh and her case as far as I know they make a very happy couple," Kavita replied.
