Karan Mehra DENIES Making A Comeback In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: ‘I Can't See Myself Play A Dada Ji’- EXCLUSIVE

Television actor Karan Mehra, popularly known as Naitik of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has been making headlines, ever since it was reported by ABP News that he is making a comeback in the show, 3 years after he quit it. After Karan’s exit, Vishal Singh had stepped into his shoes to play the character but from a long time he is also missing from the show, without any official announcement about leaving it.
We immediately called both the Naitiks to know what exactly is going on. To which, Vishal Singh reluctantly replied, "I haven't heard of anything about Karan Mehra’s comeback on the show. So, I won't be able to comment on it.” When asked why he is missing from the show since a long time and whether has he officially quit the show, Vishal replied, “When I stopped the shoot, there was nothing much happening with my character. So, I also don't know what is happening now and whether you’ll see me back on the show or not.”
On the other hand, Karan Mehra was quite clear about his stand and completely denied the news of making a comeback. "I don't know from where this news is coming but no such discussion has taken place with me. I am also trying to figure out why these kinds of rumours are being reported,” said Karan.
We then asked Karan, if he will take up the elderly character if producer Rajan Shahi gives him a call? And he says, "This was not the case even when I left the show three years back. And of course, the show has also gone way ahead in storyline. So, I don't see myself in that character anymore. I don't even see any relevance to the character. I think it will be better to do a new thing with him (Rajan Shahi) than doing the same old character. The story is already progressed to the life of Naira (Shivangi Joshi), Kartik (Mohsin Khan) life. Getting me to play Dadji now, is something I don't see myself doing. Logically as well, it will be quite a jerk in the storyline and I don't think it will work in the flavour of the show. It will be nice to work on a new project with Rajan ji.”
Talking about his next move Karan said, "I am not very definite about that. I have kept myself open to all the roles. My discussion for web series is underway as I feel OTT platform has kind space for a lot of new things. I have been offered many characters that I have not done before.”
