Speaking with Pinkvilla, Karan Wahi explained how he feels that the debate on Insiders versus Outsiders is only wrong in itself. Talking about it, he said, “I think the debate is only wrong. It is the audience who need to change their perspective. Why call me inferior to another person just because of the platform we come from.” Wahi also mentioned how the audience is also to be blamed for the discrimination of actors.

Karan Wahi continued, “I think the audience needs to reflect on that aspect. If I work on TV, and on the web as well, and even in films then why just call me a TV actor? Call me an actor na? I am not saying I have a problem with it, I am very proud to start from TV, it has made me what I am today. But, to segregate people based on the platform they work on, and then talk about equal opportunities? We shouldn’t be. Eventually, who is making us a star? The audience.” The actor then revealed how he feels that the audience needs to give creditability to everybody and then see the change in them.

Karan Wahi then went on to talk about how there might be someone else who is more talented than him, but he got the opportunity because the audience loved him more. The actor added, “Humko kaam tabhi milega jab audience support karegi.” Karan then mentioned how there are people who have perhaps done nothing big but are earning more than actors because of the social media world where people are following them. Talking about how things happen abroad or in the West, Karan mentioned how there, an actor is an actor. Citing an example of actress Jennifer Aniston, he said, “no one says that ‘oh Jennifer Aniston toh Friends ki TV actor hai!’” Karan then concluded and mentioned how these are small things which need to change.
