Kaun Banega Crorepati 13: Amitabh Bachchan Bumps Into His College-Mate From DU's Kirori Mal College On The Show
Amitabh Bachchan was taken by surprise as 'expert' Padma Bandhopadhyay shared her connection with the superstar.
Amitabh Bachchan often provides a window into his life via the popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati 13, which he hosts. And his fans and followers remain hooked on to the show to see the megastar share some anecdotes, apart from of course watching the maverick of a host preside over the proceedings. Big B was recently in for a pleasant surprise after two people recalled their past connections with him in back-to-back episodes.
It so happened that Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday’s episode introduced the 'expert' - former Flight Surgeon, Air Marshall and Padma Shri-awardee, Padma Bandhopadhyay. The actor listed her accomplishments and informed the audience that she was the first woman to be given the rank of Air Marshall.
The ex-Air Force officer thanked Amitabh Bachchan for his kind words and revealed that she shares a connection with him. She said, “Good evening sir, you may not know me, but I am your college-mate, from Kirori Mal College.”
Amitabh Bachchan was taken by surprise upon Bandhopadhyay’s revelation and said, “Oh my gosh,” and asked her what years she was there. Replying to the senior actor, the expert said, “60, 61 and 62; I was doing my pre-medical there. Then I joined the Armed Forces Medical College. Long, long time back."
Amitabh asserted, “What a small world it is, what a small world it is," and Padma Bandopadhyay agreed.
Then again, on Wednesday’s episode of the show, contestant Rashmi Kadam brought her father Rajendra Kadam along and mentioned that the latter had once been Amitabh Bachchan's personal security officer.
Rajender said, "I was your PSO (personal security officer) in 1992, so I have worked as your bodyguard. It was always a wish of mine to get a photograph clicked with you, but back then mobiles didn't have cameras. Thanks to my daughter, I'm very happy."
The actor was surprised to know this information. Rajendra also wished to get a picture with Big B. The superstar said, "The world is a small place, and I'll be happy to take a photo with you."
Meanwhile, Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 will see celebrity couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza as special guests on today's Shaandaar Shukravaar episode.
