Kaun Banega Crorepati Creator Siddharth Basu Shares What He Believes Didn’t Work When Shah Rukh Khan Hosted KBC 3
Quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati - which is hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan - is one of the best reality shows. In 21 years of its run, Amitabh has become the face of the show and KBC continues to be synonymous with Senior Bachchan. The actor allures the contestants with his baritone voice and of course, with his humble nature. Every season of the show turned out to be a hit; however, KBC 3 didn’t create a stir as it was supposed to do. For the unversed, the third season was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Even though some absolutely loved SRK's charm, it still didn’t set the TRP charts ringing. As Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 stars tonight, the quiz show creator Siddharth Basu shared why KBC 3 which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan failed to create an impact just like its previous seasons. He said it was the comparisons between SRK and AB that didn’t work. Basu believed that Big B’s shoes are too big to fill in while calling Shah Rukh one of the most natural TV hosts.

“What didn’t work with SRK was the comparison with AB. I think Shah Rukh did KBC in his own way with charm and wit, and as far as I know, it garnered good ratings. We have done three shows with SRK, and I believe he is one of the most natural TV hosts who can think on his feet. But let’s face it, Amitabh will always be the ABC of KBC, and on this show, those are very big shoes to fill,” he told indianexpress.com.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan has come up with the 13th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, this time with a theme of ‘Jawaab Aap Hi Ho’. Unlike the previous seasons, KBC 13 will have a limited live audience. The show starts tonight at 9 PM on Sony.
