KBC13: Neena Gupta REVEALS Ayushmann Khurrana Felt She's 'Too Hot' To Play His Mother In Badhaai Ho; Here's How She Bagged The Role
On Kaun Banega Crorepati 13, Neena Gupta revealed Ayushmann Khurrana didn't want the actress to play his mother in Badhaai Ho
Neena Gupata and Gajraj Rao will be appearing as guests on Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 13. Going by the promos shared by the makers of KBC13, the episode will be full of fun and entertaining. On Thursday, a promo for the upcoming episode was shared on social media, and it shows Neena talking about how she bagged a role in Badhaai Ho.
She said that when she went to Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma's office she wore her house help's clothes. "Amit ne mujhe bulaya office mein. Main gayi toh unke assistant se poochha 'Iss prakaar ka role hai, main kya pehen ke jaayu? Taaki unko lage ki main ye character lag sakti hun.' Bola, 'Aise hi middle class hai. Salwar kameez pehen lo.' Maine kaha, 'Thik hai,'" she said.
She continued, "Meri jo cook hai, mere ghar mein, uski salwar pehen ke main gayi. Maine unko yeh bola bhi, 'Sir thik lag rahi hun na?' Salwar mein apni maid ki pehen ki ayi hun. Toh unko yeh baat badi impress kar gayi, actually." She then revealed that Ayushmann Khurrana was against the idea of casting her as his mother in the film. "And later I got to know, Ayushmann himself also says this, that it was him who said, 'Don't cast Neena' because she doesn't look like a mom. She's too hot," she said.
She further revealed that she bagged the role after the makers watched her short film 'Khujli' with Jackie Shroff.
Directed by Amit Sharma, Badhaai Ho starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Sanya Malhotra and late Surekha Sikri.
