For most of the celebrities, his/her journey to showbiz hasn’t been smooth because they might have surely come across multiple hardships and obstacles. While some face monetary issues, a lot of them don’t get the support they require. The latter is the case of TV actress Anjum Fakih, who shot to fame with her stint in shows like Kundali Bhagya, Tere Sheher Mein and Devanshi among others. In a recent conversation with Bombay Times, the actress revealed how her parents were against her decision of entering the TV industry and all the other struggles that she faced.

Anjum revealed that she came from a very conservative Muslim family, so much so, that even watching television was considered a taboo in her house. Moreover, when her father finally bought a television, her grandfather didn't visit them for years for the same reason. Further, the actress revealed that her father wanted her to study well. However, in 2009, when she announced her decision of quitting studies to pursue modelling, they didn't really accept it. In fact, her parents asked her to leave the house if she wanted to enter the showbiz. With no other choice, Anjum had to pack her stuff and leave home. 


Before starting as an actress, Anjum used to sell perfumes. Anjum revealed that due to no financial support, which is why she used to walk from Andheri to Bandra to give auditions. After some time, she landed her first modelling assignment that demanded the actress to shoot in a bikini. And as soon as this news reached her parents, they stopped talking to her for a long time.
