Kangana Ranaut is making her debut as a reality show host with the upcoming OTT show ‘Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachari Khel’. Backed by Ekta Kapoor, the show, which will see 16 celebrity contestants locked up in jail, has been creating a huge buzz on social media. While there is much curiosity about its participants, Television actress Nisha Rawal has been announced as the first confirmed contestant of Lock Upp. Announcing the same, the makers have released a video where Nisha is seen locked up in jail.
Karan Mehra’s estranged wife also shared the promo video on her Instagram handle and wrote, “Bahut hua daily soap ka drama, ab shuru hoga meri life mein asli hungama! Watch #LockUpp streaming from 27th February, LIVE free on @altbalaji and @mxplayer.” In the clip, Nisha is seen wearing an orange-colored jumpsuit and in handcuffs. The charge against her was ‘controversial fights’.
The promo video starts with Nisha wearing the clothes of an imprisoned person and then applying her makeup. She, later, is put behind the bars with Kangana making a smashing entry. Talking about participating in the show, Nisha Rawal said in the statement, “I am very excited to make this new and challenging journey. Never seen or heard before, this show will set a new benchmark in the Indian OTT industry. I am excited to be a part of this visual treat for the audience. Also, big applause to Endemol, ALTBalaji, and MX Player for launching a unique reality show.”
The actress is best known for her stints on the shows like Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki and Shaadi Mubarak, Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet and Nach Baliye. Earlier, it was speculated that Poonam Pandey had been roped in as the first contestant on Ranaut’s upcoming show.
‘Lock Upp’ will premiere on 27th February 2022. ALTBalaji and MX Player will live stream the show 24×7 with the audience interacting directly with the contestants.
