After the lockdown was imposed in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced a special re-run of some iconic shows of the 90s. Among a few others, Ramanand Sagar’s show Ramayan and BR Chopra’s Mahabharat came back on the screen and gave the cast and viewers an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane. As fans have been revisiting fond memories of the mythological shows, a throwback video shared from the sets of Mahabharat will leave you teary-eyed.

Taking to Twitter, one fan tweeted, “Emotions were on peak after last episode of #Mahabharat Everyone was in tears Amazing,” sharing a throwback video from sets of Mahabharat and the final day of the shoot. The video from the last day of shoot sees the entire cast and crew of Mahabharat gathered in a room. Most of the cast and crew are spotted getting emotional as they filmed for the last time together creating something epic.

In the video from the final day of the shoot, Nitish Bharadwaj who played the role of Shri Krishna on the show is seen comforting the emotional and weeping Arjun Firoz, who played Arjuna’s character. Apart from Nitish Bharadwaj, actress Roopa Ganguly who played Draupadi is also spotted consoling the crying Arjun by wiping his tears off and giving him a warm embrace.

Co-director Ravi Chopra, seen with a tilak on his forehead, also seems to be fighting back tears in the video. His father and co-director BR Chopra is seen in a conversation with Roopa as they gear up to depart from the sets of the show.

Looking at the emotional and heartfelt video, many fans took to the tweet to express their feelings. One fan wrote, “BR Chopra Mahabharat is one in a millenia creation. It feels the characters of Mahabharata were reborn to create this masterpiece for our generation to watch,” while another commented, “Really very much emotional.”

Apart from Nitish Bharadwaj, Roopa Ganguly, and Arjun, the video also sees actor Mukesh Khanna in the background on the sets in a plain white kurta-pyjama. Talking about Mahabharat, the show is currently being re-run on DD National, whereas Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan re-run ended recently.
