Mika Singh Files Petition At Bombay HC To QUASH 2006 Case Alleging He Forcefully Kissed Rakhi Sawant- Reports
Mika Singh has approached the Bombay High Court to dismiss an old lawsuit that alleged he kissed Rakhi Sawant without her consent
Internet sensation Rakhi Sawant is rightfully known as controversy's favourite child. She is often seen making the headlines for airing her personal matters on social media. 17 years ago, in 2006 she had made the news when a video of singer Mika Singh forcefully kissing her had gone viral.
While the actress had gone on to file an FIR against the singer, they had later reconciled their differences and dismissed the FIR. Now Mika Singh has filed a petition with the Bombay High Court to dismiss the lawsuit. A division bench of Justices A S Gadkari and P D Naik, on Monday, heard the appeal. It argued that the case may be invalidated as the accused and complainant have already settled their dispute.
As reported by ABP News, the attorney representing Rakhi, Ayush Pasbola, went on to inform the court that the affidavit granting "granting permission to dismiss the FIR had been lost in the high court's registry and could not be located." They have requested the attorney to submit a new affidavit by the end of next week.
Mika's representation Falguni Brahmabhat, went on to claim that while a charge sheet was filed against the accused, charges for the same weren't prepared and have been pending for the past 17 years. She went on to add that Rakhi and Mila have buried their hatchet and resolved the issue.
For the unversed, the entire ordeal had taken place when the Main Hoon Na actress had attended the singer's birthday bash in 2006. He had apparently requested his guest to not smear cake on his face, however, ignoring his request Rakhi had done just that. To "teach her a lesson," he had gone on to grab and kiss her. In 2018, Rakhi had revealed that the incident had left her traumatised and it became impossible for her to shoot kissing scenes on television.
