If recent reports are to be believed, Mohsin Khan is planning to quit the show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' as the daily soap gears up for a generation leap.
‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, starring Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi in the lead roles, is one of the longest-running and most loved shows on Indian television. Over the years, the popular daily soap has managed to win hearts, thanks to Kartik and Sirat aka Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi’s sizzling chemistry and the surprising twists and turns. However, if recent reports are to be believed, Mohsin Khan is quitting the show.
According to a report in the Times Of India, Mohsin is planning to take a short break as the show gears up for a generation leap and he wouldn’t want to play an older character. A source close to the development was quoted as saying, “Yes Mohsin is planning to move on. Since the show is going in for a generation leap, he wouldn't want to play an older character. So he decided to take a short break. Along with television, he would now want to try out different mediums like OTT and movies.”
The insider added, “It's all amicable between him and the production house. Mohsin has always considered producer Rajan Shahi as his mentor and guide.”
Mohsin Khan, who plays the main lead, has been a part of the popular show for the last five-and-a-half years.
'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' has been running successfully since 2009. The show also features Swati Chitnis as Kartik’s dadi, Sachin Tyagi as Manish Goenka, Niyati Joshi as Kartik’s mother, Ali Hassan, and Shilpa Raizada. Recently, Karan Kundrra, who was seen as Sirat’s love interest, had quit the show.
