Mukesh Khanna Thinks The Rerun Of Ramayan Will Benefit Sonakshi Sinha: It Will Help People Like Her Who Have No Knowledge
Amidst all the tension and stress around the Coronavirus outbreak, a couple of days ago, Doordarshan completely surprised us by announcing the return of some of the iconic shows again on TV. This news obviously left us beaming with joy as we were again going to relive the shows like Bymokesh Bakshi, Circus, Shaktimaan, Dekh Bhai Dekh. Along with these shows, they had announced that they will re-telecast mythological shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat. Speaking of the return of the mythological shows, our very own Shaktimaan, and the renowned television actor Mukesh Khanna thinks that the reruns will be useful to many. He hinted at the Dabangg actress Sonakshi Sinha.

In an interview with Times Of India, Mukesh discussed the return of Ramayan and Mahabharat while also calling out Sonakshi as he thinks the rerun of Ramayan will benefit the actress. He was quoted saying, “I think the reruns will be useful to many who haven’t watched the show earlier. It will also help people like Sonakshi Sinha who have no knowledge about our mythological sagas. People like her don’t know who did lord Hanuman get Sanjivani for.” For the unversed, Sonakshi became the butt of jokes last year when she appeared on Amitabh Bachchan’s quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

The Kalank actress was asked that according to Ramayana, ‘Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani herb for whom?’ unable to answer the question, she ended up using a lifeline with the options A- Sugreev, B- Laxman, C- Sita and D- Ram. After this incident, the naysayers started trolling her for not being able to answer this question.

Meanwhile, Mukesh, in the past, has also voiced out his concerns over the new period-dramas and mythological shows being made for TV. In an interview to TOI back in 2014, Mukesh confessed, “I tried watching them but the way they keep twisting the plot, stuffing tales unheard of selling that in the name of creativity is something I find disgusting. They make a serial on Maharana Pratap and keep showing the exploits of young Maharana for years. Same goes for Rani Laxmibai. He further said, "When Ekta made Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, I found it so horrendous that I had decided to take her to court. The way she made a mockery of Mahabharata was absolutely incomprehensible. Can you do that with the sacred texts of religions other than Hinduism? I think not.” ALSO READ:  After Ramayan And Mahabharat, Shriman Shrimati, Chanakya And Shaktimaan CONFIRMED To Return On TV
