Garnering love and support from its inception singing reality show, Indian Idol marked its 11th season to entertain the audience in 2019. Unlike the past seasons, tagging along with some exuberant moments, tip toed some controversial moments too; knowingly or unknowingly targeting one of the judges settled on the hot seat. To less uninitiated ones, it is Neha Kakkar we are talking about. Being an eye candy and guiding star for aspiring singers, in the ongoing season Neha’s controversy graph, has just showed an upward peak.
Auditions of such reality shows showcase contestants exploding with emotions sharing their stories of struggles, but this season saw an aspiring singer crossing the limit. Neha who walked up to the stage was forcibly kissed by this contestant, leaving everyone in a state of shock. This uncalled reciprocation of the contestant’s fondness for the singer-judge didn’t go down well with the co-judges Anu Malik and Vishal Dadlani. On a lighter note, another incident that shall remain registered in the viewers’ mind would be her oops moment. Hold on your horses, it’s nothing got to do with the singer’s wardrobe malfunction but her trippy moment during a dance performance. Shaking a leg with host Aditya Narayan, the singer-host loses his balance, resulting into Neha slipping out of his arms, straight on the floor. But kudos to Neha for being such a sport.
We all knew Anu Malik been accused of sexual harassment and sharing the judging panel, called for potshots towards Neha. In the awake of #Metoo campaign, actress Tanushree Dutta had slammed Nana Patekar, hence targeting Neha asking her how she would agree to work with him. Later Anu Malik was forced to step down from the hot seat, making way for Himesh Reshammiya on the show.
Joining a fun banter along with her co-judges Himesh Reshammiya and Vishal Dadlani, she left many fans amused. In a short video clip when Himesh teases her saying aaj iski shaadi, Neha too bursting into laughter, gives a nod to it.
Leaving us all curious, she warmed our hearts by crooning to soul soothing number Channa Mereya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, remembering her ex-boyfriend-actor Himansh Kohli.
Lastly her confession about battling depression and suicidal thoughts running on her mind grabbed everyone’s attention. Parting ways with actor Himansh Kohli, the singer was in her lowest phase. Taking to her social media handle, she has revealed about it as well. Her post read, “Yes I am in depression. Thanks to all the negative people in the world. You are successful in giving me the worst days of my life. Congratulations, you’re successful.”
Finally rising like a phoenix, Neha has set an example for many out.
