The 2012 Nirbhaya Rape Case convicts will be hanged tomorrow, March 20, at 5:30 am. A lot of people have been expressing resentment against delayed justice and feel that they should have been sentenced to death long back. Four men who will be hanged for the crime are — Mukesh Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Kumar Singh.
Not only the general public but many Bollywood celebs have also been tweeting about the delay in justice. We also got in touch with Madhurima Tuli to know what she thinks about the 4 convicts being hanged tomorrow.
"I feel extremely happy that finally they are being hanged tomorrow. This should have happened long back but I am glad at least it is happening now," said Madhurima.
The verdict on the case was getting delayed as there were a lot of mercy petitions being filed by the convicts. Also, the last hurdle came when on March 18, two days before their execution date, one of the convicts's wife filed for a divorce reportedly saying that she didn’t wish to live with the label of being a ‘rapist’s widow’.
Expressing her anger on the same, Raveena Tandon had tweeted, “Wow ! That is super smart delaying tactics. This is called taking the judiciary for a grand ride !!!! #nayadrama why the hell didn’t she divorce him when he was about raping and brutally murdering ?”
Meanwhile, Preity Zinta tweeted, “Thanks 2R outdated Legal system & in the name of human rights these inhuman rapists still get 2appeal & live 8yrs after committing unimaginable crimes. Is this justice?They should have been shot 8years ago. My heart goes out2 Asha Devi & family.#NirbhayaCase #Sad.”
