Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been going strong since years. However, of late there have been a few subtractions and additions in the show’s cast. Besides Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben, Nidhi Bhanushali who used to play the role of Sonu in the show had also quit.

A day back, SpotboyE.com was the first one to tell you that Palak Jain is the new Sonu in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. And now, we bring to you the first picture of the actress as Sonu from the sets. Check out Palak in her character standing with on-screen parents, Aatmaram Bhide and Madhvi Bhide.

Apart from Palak, even Jinal Jain was in the running to become the new Sonu. However, finally Palak bagged the role. She is a newbie and has been part of many ads and short films in the past.


When Nidhi quit the show, a source close to her had revealed to us, "She is pursuing her BA from Mithibai College (Mumbai) and is quite a studious person. Now she wants to shape her career with education and wants to devote more time to finish her graduation. Although, the production house is contemplating on the matter by giving her more time to study and less shoot hours. Yet, it is becoming difficult for the actress to manage work and studies together. Hence, she is quitting the show.”

For those who’ve come in late, Nidhi's exit from the show was depicted with her character leaving India for higher studies. And now, she is back in Gokuldham Society.
