All of us have grown up watching a list of some entertaining, some beautiful daily soap operas on our television screens. While some ended quickly, a majority of them ran for years. And one of the prime examples of the latter one is Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta, a show that was loved by people of all age groups. It didn't only boast of an ensemble cast, most of which were debutantes, but also broke all the TRP ratings back then. The show that was based on the lives of middle-class Maharashtrian families starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande in the lead. And while Sushant became a household name due to his portrayal of Manav, producer Ekta Kapoor reveals how he hadn't impressed the channel's creative team.
Taking to her Instagram, the TV czarina shared the title song of Pavitra Rishta, featuring Sushant and Ankita, and revealed how Zee's creative team was adamant on not casting Sushant as he didn't suit the part; however, she and her team convinced them saying that his smile will win millions of hearts. "After being 35 of 50 slots we were out of top 50! This show was a chance @zeetv gave us based on a show #tirumatiselvum ! Wanted to cast a boy as lead who was doing second lead on our other show ! D creative in zee was adamant he dint look d part ! We@convinced them his smile wud win a million hearts.....and it did @sushantsinghrajput," wrote Ekta.
In response to Ekta's sweet gesture, Sushant expressed his gratitude by commenting, "And I'm forever grateful to you ma'am," followed by hearts.

Pavitra Rishta had also given us one of the most loved telly couples - Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Rajput. However, things didn't go as planned and after years of dating, the duo parted ways.
