Shark Tank India 2: Anupam Mittal-Namita Thapar React To Ashneer Grover’s Absence; Say, ‘Toxicity Is Out For Good’
Shark Tank India 2 judges Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar open up about Ashneer Grover’s absence from the show
The former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has amassed a huge fan base owing to his appearance in the Shark Tank India season one. While he may not be a part of the second season, he has on many occasions opened up about not being a part of the ongoing show. The audiences’ have been wondering what exactly went wrong between him and the makers of the show, and now fellow judges Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar have commented on his absence.
During an interview comedians, Tanmay Bhatt and Rohan Joshi asked the sharks of the ongoing season - Anupam, Namita, Amit Jain, Peyush Bansal, Vineeta Singh and Aman Gupta about the ‘elephant in the room.’ When they pointed out that Amit must be feeling pressure while filling up the position left by Grover, Vineeta asks them if they have been told not to say his name. Reacting to her comment, Rohan jokingly says, “It's very clear that there is a shark missing... I just want to know. How is Ghazal Alagh.” Which leaves everyone in splits. Further during the interview, when the judges are asked what makes season two a must-watch, taking a dig at Ashneer, Namita says, “Bottom line, in season two, the toxicity is out, for good.”
Wanting to keep the atmosphere light-hearted, Tanmay tells her, “Don't be so mean to Rannvijay.” As everyone chuckles, Namita quips, “That's exactly who I meant. What did you think?” For the unversed, Rannvijay Singh, who hosted the first season of the reality show, was replaced by Rahul Dua for the second season.
Anupam further adds, “Last time jo hua tha… Entrepreneurs ki bezzati kaafi hui thi, aapko woh nahi dikhegi.” He went on reveal how making fun of entrepreneurs and founder of companies is not appropriate. For the uninitiated, The show is the Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. This season sees Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.
