Shefali Jariwala Reacts To Shehnaaz Gill Getting Mobbed At Sidharth Shukla’s Last Rites: ‘My Heart Was Breaking To Watch That’
Shefali Jariwala slammed the circus around Sidharth Shukla’s death and also expressed her anger on people hounding Shehnaaz Gill at his last rites.
Shefali Jariwala is the latest celebrity to voice her opinion on Shehnaaz Gill being mobbed and hounded by photographers and people at Sidharth Shukla’s last rites. Celebs, including Gauahar Khan, Disha Parmar, Suyyash Rai and Zareen Khan, had earlier slammed the paparazzi for mobbing Shehnaaz at the crematorium ground. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Shefali stated that she was very angry to see how people were hounding the late Sidharth's family and his lady love Shehnaaz.
While slamming the circus around the actor’s death, Jariwala said, “I was so angry to see the way people hounded her. You have to look at her condition. My heart was breaking to watch that. It was not right,” she continues, “Shehnaaz and his [Sidharth's] mother and sisters are grieving, you have to give them the space and privacy to do so. And this is basic empathy, where is the compassion? I understand ratings and all but not at this cost.”
Shefali also said that Sidharth was a very private person and to see this circus around his death was difficult to process. She was quoted as saying, “It was very disturbing, and knowing Sidharth who was a very private person and so is his family. His mother is very private; making such a spectacle of his passing was very disturbing for me to see. It is not something that Sidharth would have wanted. At the funeral it was a circus.”
Jariwala, who had participated with both Shehnaaz and Sidharth on Bigg Boss 13, also mentioned that she is still in disbelief and is still struggling to come to terms with his sad demise.
“It’s been very difficult for me, the passing of a friend and something that we did not expect at all. It has been a shocker and it still has not sunk in actually,” the actress added.
Further speaking about Shehnaaz’s inconsolable state, Shefali mentioned that Shehnaaz is a very strong woman and she will get through it.
Shefali Jariwala was one of the celebs who attended the actor’s funeral. Sidharth Shukla was cremated in presence of his family, Shehnaaz, friends and fans at Oshiwara as per Brahma Kumaris rituals. He breathed his last in the wee hours of September 2 reportedly in Shehnaaz's lap.
