Shruti Sharma: 'Celebrities Are Expected To Be Immune To Online Trolling'- EXCLUSIVE
Actress Shruti Sharm, who is currently seen in the television show, Namak Ishq Hai, opens up about online trolling, and how actors fall victim to it too. While a lot of campaigns have been held to stop online trolling in the past couple of years, it unfortunately still exists.

Shruti says, “The trolls online are mostly the ones without any identity. This gives them the freedom to comment about anything on anyone’s profile. As sad as it sounds, what’s sadder is the fact that they find comfort in anonymity to say what they feel. It just then goes to show that the problem lies deeper in their own minds. It’s nothing but suppressed hate that they take out through these fake profiles. I hope they get help." She further adds, “Celebrities too fall victim to online trolling, but they’re automatically expected to be immune to it. While it’s also true that we can’t pick out each one of the negative comments and call them out on their actions, I feel being thick-skinned becomes a part of our job as an actor. At one point, one just decides to turn a blind eye to distasteful comments, and just focus on positives. In a way, it does make us more strong-headed, so that’s the brighter side to look at it."
