Mere Dad Ki Dulhan show producer Deeya Singh told us that Shweta Tiwari was the first and the only choice to play the female lead
Television actress Shweta Tiwari made her comeback on small screen after a gap of 3 years with Sony TV's Mere Dad Ki Dulhan opposite Varun Badola recently. The chemistry of this fresh pair is already being loved by the audience. And this made us curious to know how this pairing came into the producers’ mind.
Talking to us exclusively, producer Deeya Singh said, "We have been fortunate for the actors who have come on board. You won’t believe we didn't have much to do in casting in the days when it is the longest and toughest procedure when you plan a show. Shweta was the only choice for the character of Guneet and we are glad that she said yes. She has also done a web series for us titled Hum Tum And Them which will soon stream on ALTBalaji. We have a long association with her as she has worked with us in Parvarish. Hence, whenever something new comes up, I end up thinking of her. Similarly, Varun Badola worked with us in the show Banegi Apni Baat and after a really long time, he is back with us to play Amber."
Varun Badola and Shweta Tiwari are sharing the screen space for the first time in spite of working in the industry sine long. And it seems the makers made the perfect choice by choosing them opposite each other.
