Sonali Phogat, breathed last on Monday, August 22, 2022, after suffering from cardiac arrest in Goa. She was 42 years old. The actor turned politician’s sudden demise has left a void in everyone’s heart. Phogat rose to fame with her stint in Bigg Boss 14. With the news of her demise, her fellow contestant from BB14 expressed their grief.

Sonali Phogat participated in Bigg Boss 14 where she entered as a wildcard contestant. She shared a good bond with Aly Goni and even made headlines for her liking towards him. On the other hand, Rubina Dilaik had fights with her in the show. These contestants offered their condolence on Twitter. 




Aly Goni shared a broken heart emoji while Rubina Dilaik wrote, “Deeply saddened with the news! May your soul rest in peace Sonali Phogat!” and her husband Abinav Shukla mentioned, “Saddened & disheartened at very untimely demise of Sonali ji. Heartfelt sympathies & prayers for her daughter! Life is unpredictable.  Reminds me again of the quote ‘Live life like its your last’  because one day you going to be right! Om Shanti!”.




Even singer Rahul Vaidya expressed his grief on Twitter “Sonali ji… galat baat! Itne jaldi kaun jaata hai … Abhi to maine Haryana aana tha aapke ghar … RIP  shocked.” While, Himanshi Khurana wrote, “Shocked!! May her soul rest in peace #Omshanti #sonaliphogat”. And Eijaz Khan mentioned, “Khuda unhe jannat naseeb farmaaye. Aur unke apno ki taakat de.”




For the unversed, Phogat made her acting debut with the TV show ‘Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma in 2016. She also starred in a Haryanvi film 'Chhoriyan Chhoron Se Kam Nahi Hoti. She had also appeared in a number of Punjabi and Haryanvi music videos. She also used to make dance videos on Instagram. 




Talking about her political career, Sonali Phogat was also a BJP leader. In the 2019 Haryana elections, she got a ticket from Adampur. She had also contested the Haryana Assembly polls from the Adampur seat against Kuldeep Bishnoi, against whom she lost. 

Sonali is survived by a daughter named Yashodhara Phogat.
