Sumona Chakravarti REACTS To Rumours Of Quitting ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’: I Haven’t Quit It And Don’t Intend To Do It Either
Actress Sumona Chakravarti is known for her brilliant stint on the popular comedy show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and she has been a part of it for several years now. However, amid her absence from the show, there were reports that the actress has quit the show to explore new opportunities and will reportedly host a travel-based show called Shonar Bengal. Thus, she has decided to end her long association with comedy king Kapil Sharma. Sumona, in a recent interview, has opened up about such reports and clarified that she has not quit the comedy show.

In a recent interview, Sumona said, “Let me firmly confirm that I haven’t quit The Kapil Sharma Show and don’t intend to do it either.” She further revealed that the ‘Shonar Bangla’ show is a short one with just a one-month commitment. Sumona also revealed the reason for taking up this travel-based show as she stated it facilitates both her passion for travel and being a proud Bengali she took up the show. It goes without saying that Sumona Chakravarti has been an integral part of The Kapil Sharma Show where she plays the role of Sarla Gulati, host Kapil Sharma’s neighbour, who is deeply in love with him. She has been part of the comedy show right since its inception. Talking about her new show, it is being said that Shonar Bengal is a travel-based show for Zee Entertainment’s lifestyle channel Zee Zest and it will be a 10-episodic series. 


Speaking about being a part of this show, Sumona Chakravarti told The Tribune, “I got a chance to explore the state and unravel the stories that have been a part of my childhood but from a distance. This show gave me a chance to get up close & personal and experience them for the first time. Being able to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds has been surreal and a great learning experience for me.”
