Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Amit Bhatt Who Plays Champaklal Issues Apology To MNS Over Hindi Language Row

Comedy serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah recently called for controversy due to its recent episode revolving around languages. Champaklal played by Amit Bhatt stated that Hindi is the commonly used language in Mumbai and that got him in trouble with MNS.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been entertaining us for long, however, the show called got into trouble thanks to a recent episode revolving around languages. The members of Gokuldham society fought with each other to establish the prominence of their own mother tongue and it was Champaklal played by Amit Bhatt who solved the issue. Champaklal stated that Gokuldham society is in Mumbai and that the Hindi language is prominent in the city. This got him and the show with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

Ameya Khopkar warned the makers of TMKOC regarding the controversial dialogue. Now Champaklal played by Amit Bhatt has written a letter apologising for the same. In the letter, he mentioned that he is an actor and does what the scriptwriters ask him to do. In Marathi, he wrote, "while portraying a character I perform whatever is demanded by the scriptwriters. I personally respect Marathi language and I am proud of it. I wholeheartedly apologize for the mistake".

Earlier, a few pictures of police and MNS members arriving at Amit Bhatt's residence also made it to social media. We could see him apologising for the same.


Apart from Champaklal, Asit Kumar Modi too extended his apology to MNS through social media. He had tweeted, "मुंबई महाराष्ट्र में है और हमारे महाराष्ट्र की राजभाषा भाषा मराठी ही है. इस में कोई डाउट नहीं है. मैं भारतीय हूँ . महाराष्ट्रियन हूँ और गुजराती भी हूँ. सारी भारतीय भाषाओं का सम्मान करता हूँ. जय हिन्द."
