Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been associated with the popular Sitcom for almost 13 years now. The show which has been the audiences’ favourite for more than a decade now, proved to be the game-changer in the genre of comedy. In conversation with Times Of India, when the senior actor was asked if he ever wishes to quit the show, he replied he might when he feels he is not enjoying it, he shall decide to move on.
He said, “My show is a comedy show and it's fun being a part of it. So till the time I enjoy it, I will do it. The day I feel that I am not enjoying it anymore, I will move on.” Revealing further, though he had offers for some new shows, he has decided to stick to this show, “I do get offers from other shows, but I feel that when this show is doing well, why unnecessarily quit this one for something else.”
He added, “This is a beautiful journey and I am happy with it. People love us so much and why would I want to ruin that for no reason.”
Seen in some smaller but entertaining roles in Bollywood movies such as Humraaz, Maine Pyar Kiya, the actor affirms he still believes in doing films. He shared, “I have so much more to do in terms of acting. Life abhi puri baaki padi hai. The movies of today are taking up such wonderful subjects, so I would never leave a good film role if I am offered.
