Ghanashyam Nayak was, despite all this, unstoppable at the age of 77. He once told SpotboyE.com, "I am feeling well now. And have also started shooting for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Tonight my episode will go on air which I shot for them last month in Daman. It was a one day shoot and it is a very special scene. Our producer Asit Modi had called me for it and I thoroughly enjoyed shooting it - as it was after four long months that I got to act. Everyone was so happy to see me back on the sets. They took extra care of me on the sets and I was overwhelmed with their gesture."
Ghanashyam Nayak was also famous for his role of Vithal Kaka in the 1999 film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
