TMKOC’s Sohil Ramani On Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal Filing An FIR Against Him And Asit Modi; Says, ‘All This Is Nothing But A Publicity Stunt’
Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, took the internet by storm when she opened up about the sexual and mental harassment she had to go through at the hands of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s makers. She went as far as to lodge an FIR against producer Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohil Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. On Friday, the details of her statement were reported by various media publications. Now, in a recent media interaction, Sohil has hit back at the actress for her false accusations.

During an interview with Hindustan Times, Sohil questioned why Jennifer had reached out to Asit Modi in 2016, to take her back on the show, if she had so many problems with them. He added that nobody had forced her to do so. Talking about the message she shed sent, he told the publication, “Why did she message Asit bhai ki, ‘Main sudhar gayi hoon, sir mujhe ek mauka do’. Ramani went on to express that he is clueless as to why she is dragging his name into the matter as he was only doing his job. He revealed that he was only following the company protocol and did whatever he had to when she left for personal reasons without informing anyone. He went on to add that if something interrupts the smooth functioning of the show, the production team will indeed speak out. He also added, “Humne toh daanta bhi nahi. Sirf pyaar se samjhaaya tha. Jab repetitive hone laga, toh humne daanta. For the unversed, the FIR was registered by the Powai police against the makers under sections 354 and 509 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). No arrests have been made in the matter as the case is under investigation. While Modi went on to deny all the allegations in an interview with Aaj Tak, Jennifer expressed her wish to receive a public apology from the makers of the show.
