Uorfi Javed Appears Before Oshiwara Police, For Her ‘Fake Arrest’ Viral Video; Case Registered Against The Actress- Reports
Internet sensation, reality show star and actress Uorfi Javed has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry for her ‘best out of waste’ fashion statements. While her getting bolder and bolder with her outfit choices has divided the internet, she recently found herself in legal trouble when a video of her getting ‘fake arrested’ for wearing short clothes went viral. Mumbai Police even took to their official social media handle to condemn her and registered a criminal case against the actress.

More than a month after the video went viral, a report by the Free Press Journal states that Uorfi appeared before the Oshiwara police in connection to her stint. A senior inspector Mohan Patil at the Oshiwara police station revealed that a notice was issued to her under Section 41A (notice of appearance before police officer) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrCP) after the case was registered. As per the official, the Supreme Court has said that an individual accused of a crime entailing a maximum punishment of seven years should not be arrested ‘mechanically’.
