HIT OR FLOP: Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Super Dancer 3, Kumkum Bhagya, Ishq Subhan Allah?
Week 1 of 2019 (December 29- January 4) has been far from rosy for Ekta Kapoor. Reason? The producer’s 4 shows suffered a blow. Let’s begin with Naagin 3. The Karishma Tanna, Surbhi Jyoti and Anita Hassanandani starrer has been in top form (barring minor fluctuations) ever since it went on-air. However, in the week in question, it dropped to No.4. Kundali Bhagya too slipped from 3 to 6 and so did Kumkum Bhagya.

Not helping the situation in any which way is Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan starrer Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 (on No.18). The show has been a cause of concern for a number of weeks now and we bet, Ekta Kapoor will fast gather the creative team to take a call on the plan of action.

Clinching the No.1 spot was Star Screen Awards where Ranveer Singh and Rajkummar Rao won Best Actor for their performances in Padmaavat and Stree respectively. The Best Actress award was conferred to Alia Bhatt for her act in Raazi.

Reality shows will never lose favour with the audience and the success of these shows has proved that time and again. After Indian Idol, Super Dancer Chapter 3 will soon hit TV screens. The auditions for the show have kick-started and looks like viewers are eagerly waiting for the third season. With impressions as high as 7676, the show acquired the 3rd spot. Finally, Ishq Subhan Allah missed making it to the merit list yet again. Has the track plateaued?
