HIT OR FLOP: Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, Naagin 3, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?

Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 has done it again! The reality show, hosted by Rohit Shetty, grabbed the first position in Week 3 of 2019 (January 12-18). Evidently, fans seem to loving the stunts and how the contestants are coping with fear. On No. 2 this week is Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3 starring Surbhi Jyoti, Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandani. The supernatural series has been dwindling in terms of its position for the past few weeks and clearly faces tough competition from Khatron Ke Khiladi 9.
In Week 52 of 2018, it was at No. 2; the following week it dropped to No.4, while in last week, it acquired the 3rd spot. Super Dancer 3 (Final Auditions) managed to retain its position this time around. This too is a tough competitor considering it’s a children’s dance competition and this format is always a hit with the audience. Yeh Rishta Kya registered significant improvement in the week in question. The family drama went from No. 7 to 5. All credit to the twist – Naira (Shivangi Joshi) losing her baby -- that has ensured that audience tunes in day after day.

Furthermore, both Kundali Bhagya and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah dipped marginally. While the former slipped to No.6, the latter was at No. 7. Out of Top 10 yet again is Rubina Dilaik and Vivian Dsena-starrer Shakti –Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. It had featured in the merit list the past two weeks but unfortunately, failed to do so this time. Makers, take note. Time for a twist maybe?
