In a shocking turn of events, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya has
beat Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati to clinch the No. 1 spot in Week
43 (October 21-27). This development is rather surprising since the iconic quiz
show has been on the top spot ever since it premiered on August 28.

Furthermore, Super Dancer 2, which had plummeted last
week to No.10, showed marginal improvement and acquired the 9thspot. The show
has not been performing as well as the last season and more often than not, is
restricted to the bottom of the barrel. We had told you that Muskaan and
Mishti deserve to win this show as other contestants seem to be performing
mere ‘stunts’.

If one looks at the trend, children’s reality shows are always an instant hit with the audiences but this one seems to have missed the mark. Kaun Banega Crorepati will come to an end this week, and there is going to be immense pressure on Super Dancer 2 to be able to lure audiences.

The surprise element this week is Zee TV’s Piyaa Albela. The show, modern retelling of the love story of Menaka and Vishwamitra, has been on air since March this year, but it is the first time it has found a spot in Top 10.
