Here's an EXCLUSIVE Q & A with the TV star Abigail Pande on what made her do a topless yoga shot in a jungle.   
The actress did not bat an eyelid when we asked her questions upfront about it all. Here's our conversation:

Hi! Finally, we speak. I thought we are star-crossed...
(Laughs) Oh yes, finally. Long time.

If we come straight to the point the question is: What made you go for a topless shoot in yoga?
The idea of the post was: Nude is not Vulgar. I don't know why but we have been conditioned that way. I think it's a very wrong perception most of us hold.
Aren't women carved nude in this country's caves and paintings? 
Just because a woman is not wearing clothes, people react that she should get banned. Isn't it ridiculous?
It all began when I got inspired from the Nude Yoga Girl on Insta. If she wants to show her form of art, let's not stop her but allow her allow her to do it.

Have you guys met/interacted?
I have interacted with her on Instagram. I got to know her through Aashka Goradia. More than seeing that she is nude, I see the kind of practice that has gone into it.

Is there a difference in doing this yoga asana without clothes?
No. I am not saying 'Go and do it naked'. I am just saying, "if a naked girl is doing yoga, it does not mean she is doing something vulgar. It's just her way of expressing. She is doing it quite aesthetically'. I know there's a thin line between nudity and vulgarity --- but If you have seen her profile, I think you will agree with me. 


Aashka did the same first, right?
Yes.

And then you did it?
Yes, I did it after Aashka.
I did it in a hilly jungle in Lonavla. There was nobody around. Aashka is very good with the camera. I quite like the concept of nude yoga.

Was it easy?
I was a bit scared. Aashka said, "Go for it"

Backlash?
It's fine if some people are not liking it. They are entitled to their POV.


Your boyfriend Sanam Johar and family was aware of what you had set out to do...
Frankly, I hadn't set out to do it. I wanted to do it no doubt, but when it happened- it was just a thought that came spontaneously and I went ahead (pauses).

Go on...
My family agrees with this. Sanam was in the loop. So, how does it matter what the world is thinking?

You have been doing yoga since a long time?
Yes. And, yoga has made me calmer; I used to be a very hyper and anxious person. My sleeping and eating habits have changed. It has even dealt with my PCOS problem.

How long do you do it, every day?
I did my teacher's training, which lasted for about 7 hours a day. So now, it's never a task. Itna kar liya hai that it comes naturally to me for any amount of time.

Changing tracks. Shaadi kab hai?
(Laughs) Well, Sanam and I are living together you know. But we are not in a hurry. Jaldi jaldi mein shaadi nahin karni. We are secure with each other and will marry, one day. 


Do you still believe in the institution of marriage? Most marriages are coming with an expiry date...
Sanam and I have discussed this at length. But as I said, we are secure about each other.  

So, who's winning Nach Baliye 9?
(Laughs) Pertinent question. After all, Sanam is choreographing Madhurima Tuli and Vishal Aditya. 
I accompany Sanam sometimes. So yeah, I naturally want Madhurima and Vishal to triumph. It's such a fun show. I like Maniesh Paul as a host. I know it's hard for Madhurima and Vishal Aditya because of their history, but I guess they are soon going to settle down.. 


If not Madhurima and Vishal Aditya?
Then, I would want Anita Hassanandani and Rohit to win.
