TV actress Charu Asopa is all set to make her comeback as Hira Bai in Star Bharat's Akbar Ka Bal Birbal also starring Ali Asgar, Vishal Kotian and Aditi Sajwan. Charu who is returning to work post marriage for the first time is all excited about the show and her look.

What was the reason to say yes to Akbar Ka Bal Birbal?
These days there is so much stress and negativity. Whenever you switch on news channels, you get to see disturbing news. So, at this time when this offer came to me, I thought what could be better than making somebody laugh. I think mere comeback ke liye isse accha show nahi ho sakta tha.
Your character of Hira Bai is full of beauty and grace. How much do you enjoy getting into her look?
I personally like to get ready. Mujhe sirf bahana chahiye taiyar hone ka. So, whenever I get to play a part in costume dramas, I feel excited that I will have the opportunity to get ready. I am loving my look in the show and at the same time extremely excited for people to see it. Neeru Shah has designed my look for the show. She worked with me in Devo Ke Dev Mahadev and Baalveer too.
How was it shooting with Ali Asgar and Vishal Kotian, who are known for their comic timing?
Ali Asgar is brittle of comedy and I used to love his character of Dadi. I never thought I will be sharing screen with him in future. My character is Hira Bai who is Akbar's (Ali Asgar) wife and the show is about him being unable to tell his first wife, that I am also his wife and when he comes in front of me, he feels guilty. There have been times when I have burst out into a laughter during the scene as Ali improvises a lot during the take.
Were you hesitant to start shooting in this pandemic?
People are definitely scared about this. Whenever we start shooting we feel excited about the new show and character but this time all actors have little bit of nervousness too along with the excitement. But as we know that we have to somehow start living with it, so we are taking all the precautions. Whenever we go on the set, they do our temperature check, sanitize us with the help of the steamer, our costumes and jewelleries get sanitised from time to time. We try and maintain social distancing even during our rehearsals. We keep wearing mask all the time, except when we are shooting.
You are quite active on social media and keep treating your fans with pictures...
I am so active on social media is because from a long time I am staying all alone. In this lockdown period I have realised that you need to keep yourself busy so that a negative thought doesn't cross your mind. So, to keep myself engaged, I constantly worked on my YouTube channel. To shoot those videos, I used to get ready and while doing that I used to get my pictures also clicked and when pictures came out decent, I shared it on Instagram. I also gave a lot many auditions. If you are all alone at such a time, it is extremely important to stay positive and feel motivated.
There was a news that you are doing Bigg Boss 2020...
I have always said no for the show as I don't want any kind of negativity. A lot of fights happen inside that house but I feel this time, the show will be very calm. People have already seen so much in the outside world in these few months that if this time they will participate in the show, they will do it for peace.
So what kind of reality shows would you like to do?
Something related to dance. Maine kathak mein visharat kiya hai aur mujhe dancing ka bhaut shauk hai.
You have experienced Bollywood and TV both. According to you which platform accepts actors easily?
In today's time, the platform doesn't matter actually. Our audience has become very intelligent and they want to see only good content. If the movie, serial or series is not going to serve good content- it will not be a hit.
