SpotboyE.com was the first to tell you that Kavita Kaushik was on her way out of Dr. Bhanumati On Duty (I am quitting Dr Bhanumati On Duty: Kavita Kaushik drops a bomb, July 1) since she felt her character was too similar to her previous character from FIR. This morning, it was announced that Debina Bonnerjee will be the new protagonist in the show. SpotboyE.com had a quick chat with Debina as she gears up for the show. Excerpts:
Had you seen the show, Dr. Bhanumati On Duty?
No.
Did you speak to Kavita Kaushik before signing on the dotted line for the show?
No, I didn’t feel the need to.
Why?
See, my character is different, the show is different from what it was. It even has a new name. I would have spoken to Kavita if I was stepping into her shoes per se.
So is the remaining cast changing as well?
Yes, but I don’t know the details of those changes.
There will be comparisons between you and Kavita...
Kyun? I am not doing Kavita’s part. Someone (read Kavita) was playing (a character from) FIR, I on the other hand will be playing a bubbly girl.
