Late Sushant Singh Rajput's Close Pal Krissann Barretto Opens Up: 'Since He Started Dating Rhea Chakraborty He Disappeared, Changed His Number, House'- EXCLUSIVE
In an interview with us, Sushant Singh Rajput's close friend Krissann Barretto has opened up about their friendship, Rhea Chakraborty and more.
Sushant Singh Rajput's death is taking a new turn everyday. His father has filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and reportedly made some serious allegations. Now TV actress and Sushant's close friend Krissann Barretto opened up on how the actor disconnected from all his friends after Rhea entered his life. Read on.
How well did you know Sushant?
We were very good friends. From September 2018 to April 2019 we were so close and tight. We had a group and we used to hang out together often.
Who all were a part of that group?
I don't want to take their names because they don't want to talk about this matter. Because if they wanted to speak up, they would have done it by now.
Reason?
Maybe they are scared of getting attacked or killed like him. Secondly, there are people who feel they will be boycotted from the industry and may not get work from the movie mafias. But they all want the truth to come out and I am like how the truth will come out when people like us who knew him so closely will not speak about it. But I am not scared of anybody. I want the truth to come out even if they get upset and don't give me work in future.
When was the last time you met Sushant?
The last time I met him was on April 5, 2019. Me, Sushant, his sister and his brother-in-law (both are lawyers by profession) were all chilling at his Pali Hill residence where he used to reside before this. But then suddenly he cut off from all of us, his number changed and his address changed. And it all happened after he started dating this girl Rhea. We were under the impression that he is very much happy with her and that's why he doesn't want to be in touch with us.
Being a friend you didn't try to meet or get in touch with him, not even once in this whole year?
In March this year also knowing that he didn't want to keep a touch I messaged him on his Instagram. Because from within I used to always feel that there is something weird. For almost a year no one heard from him or had a check on him and why is it like that? In fact, to one of our common friends, I also said lets just go to his house and he told me that he has changed his place and I don't know where he stays now.
So he was not in contact with anyone of you?
That's right. I don't want to blame Rhea or anyone for that but it's a fact that he disappeared from everyone's life. He was not in touch with a single person from our circle. When he changed his number and shifted to another flat the first thought which came to our mind was maybe he doesn't want to be contacted. If he was actually going through something I wish I would have known about it. We would have made sure we would not let him alone.
You feel he was in depression and that's why he ended his life?
I can never agree to this. Someone who was a genius with such a brilliant mind and someone who trained to be an astronaut. He never cared about material things. I also remember saying him that 'people think I am weird because the only property I own is on the Moon. Rest all on this earth is rented.' So imagine a person with this kind of vision can even think of doing suicide? No, he cannot. Whatever Ankita Lokhande said in her latest interview was all true.
And what is that?
Ankita said he was like a child who used to get happy seeing chocolates and gulab jamun that is so true. When he used to wake up in the morning the first thing he used to do is eat chocolate. He was an absolute child. And I was so happy seeing her talking about all this because finally somebody actually disclosed what kind of person he was. He didn't have many people around him because I remember when I met him for the first time he said I don't have many friends because I don't understand people.
You feel the Bollywood industry boycotting him and taking away his films led him to kill himself?
The person I knew was someone. If you take everything away from him and just give a pen and paper to him he will be okay creating something new. So I really don't feel even if projects would have taken away from him could lead him to do this. Once we had gone to his farmhouse in Pawna where he told me that how he had lost one of a very important deals with a lot of money and he laughed. And he was like don't tell these guys ( the one who were working for him) they will flip.
When you all were close to him did he ever discuss losing out on a film or Industry people boycotting him?
At that time the only thing that happened was the article of Sanjjana Sanghi came out where she had accused him of #MeToo. Apparently, she was not on her phone for two months and didn't reply to it and then suddenly came out and posted saying that was not true. I still don't understand what made her wait for two months to give the clarity but being a friend I can vouch that Sushant must have not done anything to her. During that time he was upset about it and said I don't know who is doing this with and why? But whoever the person is just wants to ruin my name unnecessarily.
His father has filed an FIR against Rhea now. You think she is the reason behind his death?
I really don't know. Ever since he has left us there are a lot of things unanswered. Everyday there is new development which is twisting the whole theory. It's been so many days and there is no clarity. Things are unsettling. If all this is so hard for me to even go through imagine how hard it must be for his father and his sisters. The day his father did an FIR against her, I was going through the copy and was shocked completely. Although I have never met her personally so I would not like to comment if she was the reason.
Parting Shots: I really want CBI inquiry to happen and truth to prevail. Sushant should get justice because I don't want people to feel that he committed suicide when he was an warrior in real life.
