Actress Meghna Naidu who is still remembered for her song Kaliyon Ka Chaman has been part of many popular film and TV shows. The actress also made noise when she revealed about her marriage with Tennis player Luis Miguel Reis.
The actress is currently locked down in Dubai and spoke to us exclusively about all that’s happening in her life:
We heard that you have been locked down in Dubai?
Yes, I am in Dubai and have been locked down from last 4 weeks. Things are very strict here. Everything is closed. We need license even if we are going for shopping groceries. I feel it's a very good step because then, people will not step out of their houses unnecessarily. I hope this ends soon as it’s been really long.
Are you with your husband?
Yes, my husband Luis is with me and luckily, we both have the company of each other. I came back from India just in time before the flights were stopped. Thankfully, I reached back safely.
How much do you miss India and your family?
I am missing my family very much. We have been chatting on Skype every single day for nearly 2-3 times as I am extremely worried about my parents’ health. They are old and at a high risk of catching this infection. Thankfully, my sister is with them so she has been taking good care of them. Also, the good thing is that my building has been locked down completely from the last three weeks now. The society where I am living in is very strict and they are taking all the measures. Hence, I am constantly praying that things settle down faster there.
Tell us about your marriage. What made you hide it for 2 years?
Yes, my marriage came out as a surprise to many. Actually, a lot of people who knew me closely were aware of it. It just surprised those who didn’t know. I am glad that people are happy. Kyunki kaafi logo ke dimaag mein tha ki yeh kyu nahi bol rahi hai kisiko and my intention was not to hide, but I was just enjoying my marriage phase. Although logo ko hamesha lagta tha ki kuch toh gadbad hai as I used to be in Dubai most of time. That’s when I made up my mind to finally make the announcement.
When is your white wedding happening then?
White wedding ka plan hold pe hai because we were supposed to be in Portugal right now and everything got cancelled due to this pandemic situation. So, we may do our white wedding next year when we go to Portugal. Honestly, we aren't planning anything for now because we have to wait and see how the situation turns out in the next couple of months. We are already married with all the rituals but it was our wish to do a white wedding. Let's see, when it gets fulfilled.
And is family planning on your mind?
We are not particularly doing any family planning. Agar hua to hua. We both are quite open with the fact that we are not going to push anything, if it happens naturally, it will be great. We are not going to stress over doing things like meeting 10 different doctors or doing any kind of treatments. I am also open to the option of adoption. Right now, there is no planning as such. Though we have spoken about it, we haven’t decided anything as of now. When it happens, you will know it for sure.
Are you missing showbiz? And any plans to make a comeback?
In March, I had several meetings lined up for my work. I had a few projects to discuss. But suddenly, due to the impact of Coronavirus, flights started getting cancelled and I had to fly back. Obviously, everything is on hold now. So after lockdown, I am definitely going to jump at every work that comes my way. I am going to focus more on my career after this ends as I’m missing showbiz very much.
