‘He Grabbed My Right Hand’: Actress Shamim Akbar Alli Alleges Autorickshaw Driver Assaulted Her In Mira Road Before 5-Year-Old Daughter

Actress Shamim Akbar Alli has accused an autorickshaw driver of assaulting her in front of her five-year-old daughter near her child’s school in Mira Road. The shocking incident occurred on November 1, when the 32-year-old actress had just finished her workout at a gym in Kanakia and took a rickshaw to pick up her daughter from school.

According to Shamim, around 2:45 pm, she asked the driver to stop near the school gate. The driver allegedly got frustrated and started abusing her, questioning why she asked him to stop there. “He demanded that I pay the fare immediately because he was in a hurry,” she said. Shamim said she quickly picked up her daughter and asked the driver to drop them home.

The situation worsened near her society gate when her daughter requested to go for a short ride toward the Fountain area. Shamim told her that they would take another rickshaw for that trip. At this point, the driver allegedly turned around and assaulted her. “He grabbed my right hand and twisted it while I was still inside the rickshaw with my daughter,” Shamim alleged.

Shocked and scared, she immediately went to the Kashimira Police Station to lodge a complaint. The police recorded her statement and noted the autorickshaw’s registration number. An officer from the police station confirmed that an inquiry had been initiated and efforts were on to trace the accused driver.

Shamim expressed her concern about the safety of women and children, especially when such incidents happen in public. “It was terrifying because my daughter witnessed everything. She was crying and frightened,” the actress said. The investigation is currently underway, and the police are working to identify and take appropriate action against the autorickshaw driver involved in the incident.
