'In Italy, Yes!': Soha Ali Khan Recalls Being Flashed In Broad Daylight, Speaks On Casting Couch Experiences
n a recent interview, actress Soha Ali Khan opened up about an unsettling incident she experienced in Italy, when she was flashed in broad daylight. She said, “In Italy, yes. Apparently that happens often. But in broad daylight? Yeah … What is their motive? I don’t understand that.” Soha added, “We don’t want to get into their heads to understand.”
While she acknowledged her own privileged position, Soha also reflected on how such episodes are more common among people who rely on public transport, who “have to face such incidents mostly every day.”
When asked whether she has ever encountered the phenomenon of a casting couch in Bollywood, Soha stated that she has not. She credited her family background—being the daughter of Sharmila Tagore and Saif Ali Khan—as possibly having shielded her from such experiences. She said, “Somewhere, this privilege, where you belong to an industry family, maybe because of that, I was spared.” She added, “Everybody felt that there’s Saif, there’s Sharmila ji. Maybe because of that. But I really haven’t had any experiences like that. Thank God for that.”
Soha also spoke about her acting career—though she hasn’t achieved the same level of superstardom as her mother or brother, she has carved out her own identity through roles in films like Rang De Basanti, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Tum Mile, and more recently Chhorii 2, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. Beyond acting, she has also launched a podcast called All About Her, where guests such as Malaika Arora, Sunny Leone, Pratelekhaa, and Smriti Irani have appeared.
