'Pagal Kutte Ne Nahi Kaata': Ashish Chanchlani Says He Can’t Date Elli AvrRam, Slams Trolls After Prank Post
YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani recently addressed the dating rumours linking him with actress Elli AvrRam, which began after a loved-up photo of the two went viral. However, it turned out to be a promotional prank for their music video Chandaniya. During an Instagram live session on Monday, Ashish clarified, “I can never date this person... Mujhe pagal kutte ne nahi kaata hai... Working with her is extremely difficult.”
He and Elli went live together to thank fans for the love received, where Ashish reiterated that they are “just friends” and there is “nothing romantic” between them. He added, “Working with Elli is like putting your hand in a lion’s mouth.”
The viral post had Ashish captioning the image "Finally ❤️", sparking widespread speculation. Reflecting on the reaction, he said, “Did not expect prank to blow up,” and added that the idea was just to prank his audience, who are used to his jokes. “Elli’s parents knew the truth. But apart from them, so many people congratulated us,” Ashish revealed.
He jokingly asked Elli during the live, “Didn’t it ever cross your mind, maybe we should actually date after this fiasco?” Elli gave him a sharp look, prompting him to quickly say, “Okay, never mind. I can never date her.”
Post the prank, Elli faced trolling, including derogatory comments about her “body count.” Initially silent, Ashish was later criticized for not defending her. On July 20, a user posted, “Bhai seriously bol rha hu ekdum shit song tha and iske liye tune prank kiya and tere fans ne is bandi ka character assassination kiya and tu chup hai.”
Ashish responded: “I wanna clear something before you all. Make no mistake. Those ‘people’ in my comments are not my audience/fans or followers… all the disgusting things they said will never be supported or encouraged by me or my fans.”
