Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar found herself at the centre of intense online speculation after she announced on Instagram that she was taking a break from her work and personal life, including “responsibilities, relationships and everything I can think of right now.” In the post, she said she wasn’t sure if she would return, and asked fans and paparazzi to respect her privacy — a message she later deleted.

The vague nature of that announcement quickly sparked rumours of trouble in her marriage to singer Rohanpreet Singh, with many fans interpreting her words as a sign that the couple might be headed for divorce. The chatter gained momentum on social media, as followers debated whether the break was related to her personal life rather than her career.

On Tuesday, Neha took to her Instagram Stories to clarify the situation and quell divorce talk. In her note, she pleaded with the public not to involve her husband or her family in the speculation. “Guys please don’t drag my innocent husband or my sweetest family in all this plz! They are the purest people I know and whatever I am today, it’s because of their support!” she wrote, stressing that her frustration was directed toward “a few other people and the system,” not her loved ones. She added that posting emotional messages had been a mistake and joked that media know well “ke ‘Rai ka pahaad kaise banaya jaata hai” — meaning small things get blown out of proportion.

Neha concluded by saying she won’t discuss her personal life publicly anymore and reassured fans she’ll be back “with a BANG,” putting an end to the divorce rumours and reaffirming that her marriage is intact.
